LIBRARIAN’S DAY August 12, 2025

 DTSS Library Book Donation Drive

On August 12, 2025, the DTSS Library successfully hosted a book donation drive to commemorate Librarian's Day. The initiative was a resounding success.

The primary goal of the drive was to enrich the library's collection with a diverse range of new books, providing fresh resources and reading material for our students. Throughout the day, the library received a large number of donations. The quality and variety of the donated books were exceptional, reflecting the broad interests and knowledge of our dedicated staff.

This event not only added valuable resources to our shelves but also served to strengthen the sense of community within the school. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the role of librarians and libraries in fostering a love for reading and learning.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

International Yoga Day (IDY) 2025

Theme- “Yoga for One Earth One Health

International Yoga Day: Celebrating the Ancient Practice for Modern Wellness

Every year on June 21st, the world comes together to celebrate International Yoga Day—a day dedicated to honoring the ancient practice of yoga and its many benefits for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Established by the United Nations in 2014, Yoga Day has rapidly gained global recognition as a reminder of how this timeless discipline can promote harmony within ourselves and with the environment around us.

Yoga, which originated in India over 5,000 years ago, is more than just physical exercise. It is a holistic approach to health, combining breath control (pranayama), meditation (dhyana), and physical postures (asanas) to create balance in the body and mind. The practice encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, and enhances flexibility, strength, and overall vitality. In today’s fast-paced world, yoga offers a much-needed pause, a chance to reconnect with our inner selves.

The choice of June 21st is symbolic—this date marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, representing a time of light and energy. On this day, millions participate in group yoga sessions, workshops, and cultural events across the globe. From community parks in small towns to grand stadiums in bustling cities, people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities come together to celebrate unity through yoga.

Beyond individual health benefits, Yoga Day also promotes a message of global peace and environmental consciousness. The principles of yoga teach respect for all living beings and the planet, encouraging sustainable living and compassion. As yoga grows in popularity worldwide, it fosters cultural exchange and mutual respect, breaking down barriers and building bridges between diverse communities.

In conclusion, International Yoga Day is not just about practicing yoga poses—it is a celebration of a lifestyle that nurtures physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual growth. It serves as a reminder that through simple, mindful practices, we can achieve greater harmony within ourselves and contribute to a more peaceful, connected world. Whether you are a seasoned yogi or a curious beginner, Yoga Day invites everyone to step onto the mat and embrace the transformative power of yoga.
